The few dinners I have had with my teachers - in high school and beyond - have been hilarious in a very similar manner. I was shocked the day my teacher called one of her students (one in my class) obnoxious; it was done in a very classy, subverted, witty way...but all the same. Then I cracked up. Oh, hip replacements - you bring the best stories.
