The Betrayal Challenge: Post HBP

Just issued this challenge over at hp_oldladysb

The summary of minerva_fan's fic captured it perfectly: After the events of HBP, no one knows who to trust.



And so I want to isse the Betrayal Challenge.

Hogwarts has been thrown into one of the darkest hours of its history - a member of staff has betrayed and killed the Headmaster. Madam Rosmerta was acting on behalf of the Dark Lord, under Imperius. No one can be trusted anymore.

What if one of our beloved 'old ladies' were working secretly for the dark side? What if someone they held dear was about to betray them?

Impossible, you say. Well, no one suspected Snape.

Was Rosmerta really under Imperius?

Is Petunia an untrained witch? How much does she hate Harry?

Were Madam Hooch and Professor Trelawney not noticed at Dumbledore's funeral because one was busy abducting the other into the Dark Lord's custody?

Is Filch about to betray his Headmistress for the chance to final inflict pain on his enemies?

What if Hogwarts' Headmistress is herself reporting to the Dark Lord?

The Dark Lord offers temptations that are difficult to resist. In the darkest part of writers' imaginations, who has the power to resist them, and who does not?


This challenge will run from now until October first, when I'll have a poll on my journal, and the winner will get a dark little banner.
