It takes so much energy to hate

and yet people seem to be so adamant about doing so.

What's the point of learning, of knowledge, if it only makes you more aware of the horrible attitudes of others?

What's the point of understanding things when you can't help others to understand them?

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose, but I'd still rather not be.

I guess many people don't want to understand because in a way, it's easier to just keep hating.
When trying to understand, you might discover parts of yourself that you'd rather not have seen.

I don't blame people for being ignorant. But I do blame them for choosing to remain so.

AMEN. I love learning, and I love talking about things without an agenda, but some people just don't like to learn new things, or be introduced to things that are different. It's a little sad, but whatever. It's their choice.
