Oh, 1979

You amuse me.

I recently bought a copy of the magazine 'The World of Yesterday' from December '79 on Ebay. Almost the entire issue is dedicated to pictures and information about Agnes Moorehead, which made it awesome and impossible to resist.

In the editor's letter at the beginning of the magazine, there is the following:

"Maintaining our subscription files and mailing lists was taking hours of precious time a week so we invested in a small computer to handle these chores ... As time goes on we are going to give our Apple (believe it or not that is the name of the manufacturer of our little work horse) lots more to do..."

Believe it or not!

I love Agnes! And what a gorgeous icon you have of her. I read that she often wore lavender from head to toe -- even had lavender pens and ink and purses.

(little work horse Apple -- haha)

She is awesome :). The icon is from 'the bat', which is one of the few films she had a starring role in, and which is full of yay and sapphic undertones for that reason. And yeah, she was known as 'the lavender lady' and apparently decked out her dressing rooms and stuff in it. Even some of endoras more random props were lavender (purple quad bike ftw). I'm not sure this mag will have anything that her biography doesn't, but it's shiny nonetheless.
