More yay over at [livejournal.com profile] stoatshead_hill. In which Rita has Tea with Irma Pince (while thinking A LOT of naughty thoughts), secretly registers as an animagus with the Auror office, has a bit of a misunderstanding with Gilderoy, then takes Irma out for some 'culture'.

I am so in love with this game, and everyone I get to play with in it is so awesome. ♥ for them all.

Also, a meme of sorts, gacked from virtually everyone, but most recently [livejournal.com profile] mctabby.

1. Take your OTP
2. List your personal canon for those characters. So the stuff that has nothing whatsoever to do with the books, but in your head is irrefutably what would have happened.

Now, I don't have an OTP, but I do have a rather large minor character fetish. So, my personal canon for Rita Skeeter.

Many, many of my ideas about Rita have been formed and/or shaped by all the fic I have read about her, and discussions I've had with all sorts of people, so obviously, I don't consider all of these my own inventions :)

1. Rita is a nickname. Her full name is 'Maguerite', and her middle name is Ann. She has at least one sister, and is the elder/oldest of them. She's pureblood, her family were/are well-off, if not rich, but were never pureblood elitists. Her parents are both Ravenclaws, and hence rather intellectually interested in muggles and their history.

2. Her 'canon' age (as mentioned in GoF) is correct, and she was a Slytherin in the same year as Bellatrix. They had a very rocky and explosive (and sexual) friendship that turned rather nasty in the last few years of school, when Bella's loyalty to the Dark Lord and Rita's lackthereof became apparent.

3. She's a Gemini, born in late May, and her wand is Hawthorne, which is May's wood, and good for transfiguration.

4. When she was young, her parents took her to a muggle cinema. She loves old Hollywood cinema, particularly film noir. As a child, she fell in love with the idea of being a femme fatale (even if she didn't know the world for it then) and she styles herself in that vein. As wizards are wont to do, however, she completely missed the point of film noir, and assumed that all femme fatales would wear bright, bold colours if only the films were made like that.

5. She has an abstract tattoo of a beetle on her hip. Kind of tribal-looking. Only people who knew her animagus form already would recognise it for what it was, but it's there.

6. She's completely and utterly, flagrantly bisexual, but also rather inept when it comes to actually sharing her feelings and letting people in. This is something that's been formed from a lot of things - seven years in Slytherin, her relationship with Bellatrix (which was all about a struggle to be the Alpha-female, with things like feelings being weakness), and years of being a journalist and having to divorce herself from emotion, to name a few.

7. She's got an absolutely horrible phobia of coleopterology (people who collect beetles), and can't stand to see any sort of collection like that. Her boggart is a giant pin, and she doesn't even like seeing pins while in her human form.

8. She's far-sighted, and people are rather blurry up close without her glasses. She wears them slightly down her nose, so she can peer at people over the top of them when they are any sort of good distance away.

9. She is often distracted by shiny things and pretty lights, and notices the smell of people she gets close to as much as any of their other physical attributes.
