1. What songs are you currently addicted to?
Absolutely everything on the Mumford and Sons 'Sigh No More' album. My God, I'm in love with it. Needed new music for the commuting to work, so it's been in my car for the last few days, and I AM IN LOVE.
2. What are you currently reading?
John Connolly, 'The Whisperers'. *\o/* Yay for smart-arsed, dark-edged Charlie Parker and his kick-ass assassin and semi-retired thief best friends, who are also an interracial gay couple. This is probably the eighth or so Charlie Parker thriller, and they are continuously awesome.
3. What was the last movie you saw?
'Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist', directly following 'Dorian Grey'. Yay for Saturday nights in with a bottle of Baileys and some DVDs. I enjoyed both, though Wilde purists on IMDb seemed unimpressed by Dorian Grey.
4. What makes you angriest/most frustrated right now?
Peak-hour traffic. It's been nearly two months now, and my urge to kill in the morning is still quite high. It was quite a shock to go from driving home at 12:30am to getting to and from work in peak hour traffic. I'm still not quite used to it. It's been even worse the last few days, too, because it's been wet, and it seems as soon as the road gets even the tiniest bit damp, half of Sydney's drivers turn into 85 year-old women.
5. Favourite book and why?
I can't. There just isn't one single book that is better than all the others. I love many, many books. But I will say that the most inventive and fun books I read in the past year were the first two instalments of Spencer Quinn's 'Chet and Bernie Mystery' series. They are stories about a PI and his dog and their investigations, and the dog is the narrator. They are clever, and funny, and everyone should read them. Chet's observations about the world and human beings are inspired.
6. What are your current addictions?
Beholder fics (wah, it's over!), breeding plot bunnies, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, colourful tights, re-discovering my love for the HP 'Old Ladies' and fangirling on LJ in general, which I have been rather absent from for a while.
7. What is your favourite t-shirt?
A purple one I bought at Edinburgh castle with a picture of a mouse on it and the text 'a wee moose'. Always confuses the hell out of people.
8. Something about you that most people don't know? Extra points if it is interesting.
I love my cats so much it scares me. I don't voice it very often because I don't want to sound like a crazy person, but god. They make me laugh and they cuddle on me and they're so individual and every time they stay out too many minutes past the usual feeding time I'm quietly terrified of what could have happened to them. Even the idea of something bad happening to one of them makes me feel physically ill, and honestly, that must be what having children is like and how can anybody stand it?
9. What was the last thing you bought?
A handbag, yesterday, for $25. It broke today and I got it replaced. It better last me at least a month or I am going to choke someone. I am mourning the use-by date of my awesome plaid Emily bag, and I just want this new thing to do me for the grieving period.
10. Do you have more friends online or off?
Online, definitely. In RL, I am very much a 'small circle of close friends' kind of person, but online I feel part of a larger community of friendship based on interest. And some of the people I have met online are as dear to me as anyone I know offline.
11. Something that made you laugh today?
A picture of a man trying to melt the snow on his roof with an iron. On Fail Blog. It's a dead giveaway that you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing when you start giggling uncontrollably at work. I'd link to the image, but it seems my brother has killed our download limit for the month, so we are speed reduced until June 1, and I think trying to load failblog now would take approximately that long.
12. Favourite non-alcoholic beverage?
Coke, green chai tea. White chocolate mocha from Gloria Jeans.
13. What was the last thing you ate?
Barbecued chicken, oven potatoes and peas. A simple dinner my mother left for us to warm up because she clearly thinks we're incapable of procuring our own meals (she's probably right, when it comes to my stepfather. He got all testy about how 'he'd do it' when I pulled the pack of potatoes out of the freezer, then proceeded to sit around and drink wine and watch television until my mother came home from her after-work drinks and cooked it for us herself).
14. What are your current favourite pairings?
God, um. Well. Rita/Snape, Rita/Rufus, Rita/Minerva, Rita/Kinsgley, Rita/pretty much anyone, really. Anything that involves one or more of the HP 'old ladies' and, well, anyone. I do like the older women characters best, but part of the fun of reading fanfic is to see how people pair them with whoever comes to their mind. I'm also quite pleased with Muriel/Ollivander at the moment *g*, and feel rather dirty for my fondness for Muriel/George.

Apart from here? Cracked.com, Cute Overload, The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee, Go Fug Yourself, Cake Wrecks, the Cheezburger Network (especially failblog).
16. What are you plans for tomorrow?
Sleep until my body isn't tired anymore. Have lunch or dinner with friends that we have been trying to plan since last week, and organise her baby shower until I am satisfied that it won't be a failure (it is to be at my house).
17. What kind of music is contained in your hard drive?
All sorts of things. Most of my music collection is now in electronic format as well as on CDs. So everything from Regina Spektor to Rammstein. I have what you could call eclectic taste. There is a LOT of Tori Amos on my hard drive, though, thanks to an epic MP3 CD sent to me years ago by a friend.
18. Favourite colour?
Violet and other similar shades of purple. I'm a very purple person. I own a pair of purple leather gloves. They make me feel like the Joker.
19. Pet peeve?
Hypocrrisy. Pettiness. Bigotry. People who cut me off then drive really slow. 'Baby on board' car window decals (seriously, I just feel like ramming cars that display them out of spite).
20. Guilty pleasure(s)?
Smutty RP, cigarettes, shameless self-promotion, large glasses of Baileys.
