the pairings i love are insane
Jul. 11th, 2010 11:17 pmA few days ago, I created an IJ comm called The In Between. It's a place where people can go and RP whatever the hell they like, sort of like
thedressingroom and
un_dressingroom combined. I created it because there is no community like the latter one on IJ, and I thought other people might enjoy having somewhere to play their smut/backstory/AU threads/whatever that allowed for private threading. So far, approximately three people are watching, but hey. If you or anyone you know plays on IJ, and might like a place like that to post in, spread the word!
Otherwise, I suppose it will only end up being used by
missbowtruckle and I, for our Muriel/George porn.
God, I love this pairing. I am well aware that loving it so much makes me a filthy pervert, but there it is.
Specifically, I love playing it with
miss_bowtruckle, whose love for Weasleycest is matched only by my own love for older woman/younger man. For Muriel, I think the latter is the more pressing issue/actually kind of a turn-on, and for George, I think it's the former. George doesn't care how old she is, or that she has wrinkles and he has to be gentle with her, or that she doesn't have his stamina. And Muriel doesn't care that he's her nephew (it barely even registers for her, because it was so common for wizards to marry their cousins in her day that George is barely even related to her, in pureblood wizard terms).
And it... well, guh. The first time involved an accident with Wheezes that made George want the first woman he laid eyes on (her), and the second involved deliberate use of Wheezes to make her younger for a few hours. The first time was wonderful - just throwing the plot device in there and then letting them react to the situation (hotter than it had any right to be), and the second was so amazingly hot that I nearly died. Now we're writing another one. I'm not sure what it is, yet, but we'll see. It's constantly surprising, which is a lot of fun.
And yet it's not even the sex that makes me love them so very much. It's them. It helps, of course, that their relationship is an AU expansion on the fantastic bond they forged when we played them at
road_ahead. It is very firmly based in how we see them as characters, which is what I love so very much. George is seven different kinds of fucked up from the death of his twin/having a mental breakdown/being hurt badly by his previous relationship collapsing as a result of said breakdown, and Muriel is safe. She's seen him at his worst and understands how absolutely consuming grief can be (part of her says that the grief she felt, once, must pale in comparison to the grief one feels losing a twin, but then another part of her says that that kind of attitude - that somehow George's grief is always going to be exponentially greater than anyone else's - is something that will only serve to make it worse). She is well aware that the relationship is probably unhealthy, but George has been to hell and back, and if he keeps coming back, and finds some comfort in it, then she doesn't think there's anything especially wrong with that. For her part, he is a beautiful boy, and she loves him and feels protective of him, and as for the sex, well. She was perfectly content to live out the rest of her life without sex, if it never happened again, but since it has - and with a passionate, sincere and thoughtful partner - she is quite enjoying it.
It's really about safety, though, about extremes of emotion that push people together in ways that they may not consider otherwise, and having fun with that.
Maybe I am crazy. I'm sure I am a pervert. I'm equally sure that there are probably about three other people in the entire universe who aren't insanely squicked by the very idea of this pairing, but I love it. And I felt like being vocal about it :)

Date: 2010-07-11 02:54 pm (UTC)I adore Muriel, and this is a fascinating premise. If you don't mind, I'm going to lurk/watch (see, pervert. Told you.)
I'm intrigued by these RPGs and rather daunted by them, too. They seem so elaborate and complex. But the ones I've looked at seem really interesting.

Date: 2010-07-12 11:34 pm (UTC)I know what you mean, with games. They're very hard to follow unless you're diligent with it. What P said is a good general rule, though. Whether you're reading or playing, it's impossible to keep up with *everything*. When I was playing in games, I only kept up with important game stuff and the threads of certain characters I/my characters were most interested in.
(not always the same. I once attempted to read some Kingsley/Susan at SHH, because I was quite intrigued, but my Rita muse, who had an on-again/off-again relaytionship with Kingsley and was honestly quite in love with him, even if she was in denail, was so full of jealous rage that I couldn't finish reading it. If you ever do decide to RP, be quite prepared for the characters to take over your brain)
