What a fantastic story! I especially love your Mafalda, but the account of the tensions between the Ministry and the order rung very true, and it was almost painful to watch how Alastor changes. In the end, of course, his suspicions are proved justified, but the explanation for Amelia's death - because of the forthcoming promotion - makes perfect sense. Bravo!
