Everyone, I am in SUCH a happy place.
I got home from work today to find not only some lovely reviews about my 'Meeting at Night' fic, but an email from Ian Irvine. About a week ago, I gathered up the courage and the shamelessness to send him 'Cloak and Dagger'. I was unsure about the ettiquite there, having never been in contact with an author whose work I fanficced before, but I bit the bullet and sent it, with a message that basically said that I understood if he didn't want to read it. Which I did. Anyway. I got this from him today (shamlessly posts like she shamlessly sent the fic, because she is just so fracking *SQUEE* to have received this):
"I’m not normally a fan of fanfiction, but I have to say that what you’ve written is masterly; you’re a talented writer and you’ve really got into the characters. And it’s certainly interesting to see those two characters put together in ways that I would never have thought of. It’s lucky I have no plans to write more about them, otherwise you might have influenced me."
*Dies a thousand fangirl deaths*
Seriously, is my life now complete, or what?
On an entirely different note, I got sick of redvamp and changed my journal layout to Professor Trelawney. I'm not sure how the spacing will work out on other screens - take a look and let me know if the pic is fully visible, once? This layout theme is lovely.
