Some of the girls over at the MRAP were lamenting the lack of Mab cleavage in a recent thread. So I took care of it for them. This is what happens when I've been working on an essay for the last few days.
Omg yes. Pamela Pamela Pamela Pamela. She is one of my absolute favourite Manda characters. Totally femme fatale and freaking hot as hell. *drool*
Also, lol, I've been eating up every Isabelle film I can find. Seriously, apart from 8 Femmes, does the woman do anything cheerful? She's completely brilliant - I watched Gabrielle last night and oh, wow. Honestly, when her husband tells her that he loves how pale she is and the way she blushes and the fact that he can see her veins beneath her skin, I nearly died, because OMGYES.
But seriously. Most recently I saw Private Property and Time of the Wolf, the former of which is utterly brilliant the latter, ehn, maybe (even though she' great) - but both are utterly, utterly depressing. Is this a common thing? :)
Pamela was awesome. I gaped in awe at just how fantastically bitchy and volatile she was, and then I gaped in awe at how FRAKKING HOT Miranda looked (especially in that black ensemble in the ball-grabbing scene, that outfit knocked me out good and speechless).
*grins* It is a very common thing, I'm afraid. I remembering remarking on the fact that in all the dvds of Isabelle that I own, only 8 Femmes is cheerful and it is pretty much the only cheerful thing she has done (which = total shame). All the other dvds I own have her either ending up dead or distraught at the end. I think 'Les Soeurs Fachees' is less depressing, might wanna try seeing that (I haven't managed to get hold of it yet, alas).
Ooooh, I reeeally wanna see Private Property. I'm gonna have to wait until it comes out on dvd and even then I bet I'll have to use Amazon.fr. Haha, yup, Time of The Wolf is bloody bleak. But then, that's Michael Haneke for you.
Mmm yes. Dark + pale + red lipstick and optional cigarette = OMGHOT.
Eh, yeah *sigh*. But still, awesome. I watched 'Heaven's Gate' last night and at least the first half of that is cheerful (and omg Isabelle is SO gorgeous in it!). It goes on forever, though, and by the end it was 4am and I just wanted to go to bed. Ooh, I have 'Les Soeours Fachees'. I'm not sure if my copy is dodgy or if the tv's player just hated it, but either way, I can send you your own copy if you like (I'll hire it again if my copy is shit). It's not bleak like some of her other films, but there are still some quite hard-hitting moments. Balanced, though, by the ones that are cute and funny.
I hope 'Private Property' and 'A Comedy of Power' come out on DVD here. They were the two Isabelle films shown at the French film festival recently. I didn't make 'Comedy', unfortunately. I was going to see it, but I got omg lost on the way to my friend's place, and was so late that we missed it >.
