*Types on the shiny and new*

So. I have a new laptop. It is very shiny and new. My wallet, however, disagrees with my 'mmm shiny gadget' mentality.

Old laptop only lasted 2 years. Not even, really. How incredibly annoying. But it crashed last week, and I got it reformatted (for $100), which didn't help. And then I took it to the computer doctor (for $105), at which point I was told that repairing it would cost $2200. Um, no. Sorry. It didn't even cost that much.

And neither did this one, come to that. Yaye for 24-month end-of-financial-year payment plan options.

Anyway, so it's a HP, and it's quite lovely, and it has Vista.

OMG wtf Vista is completely incomprehensible.

Okay so maybe not. But it is strange liek whoah. I suppose I will get used to it. The screensaver is nifty, as is the little sidebar thing.

Any other Vista users on my flist? Tell me about the sooper seekrit awesome I haven't discovered yet! Do any of you know if I can get some sort of world time clock Gadget?


Also, all my essays for the semester are finished. I go to the US in less than a month. :D

Until then, I suppose I need to work like a dog at the supermarket :P

Why hello there. supermarket work isn't nearly as annoying as toy store work, which was my last job. At least i don't have to do refunds this time.

And eep, yeah. I drove by last night, but I haven't been around the MRAP in earnest for a while. Damn uni work.

Is Vista anything like macs? As in the way it's set up? If it is I may consider getting a HP instead of a macbook for college. Actually, who am I kidding? I'd never leave Apple...
