Feeling all creative again, made a bunch of LJ icons.

 Ack!

Asparagus never looked so good ;)

Kind of random, from a picture I found that I think is beautiful

Got Helen? Made this one as a request, on Mirrentalk

Sa Femme - part of the only lengthy French phrase I know - "His Wife", from the French title of 'The Cook, the Theif, His Wife and Her Lover'. I'm not going to write the French version becaise I always spell the word for 'theif' wrong.

 Mrs King. :-)

Steal and enjoy, but please credit.

Nice icons! I especially like "Got Helen" and "Sa Femme," although I loathed "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover."

Thanks! :)

You did?

I think it's just one of those ones that you either love or you hate. I love it, for it's brutality, artistry, everything.

I was only fifteen when I first got my hands on it, the Australian equivalent of the NC-17 version, I believe, and it was quite eye opening. I've always had a bit of a thing for dark and twisted.

I watched it in my 20s, back when I was living in New Orleans. I was on a "Watch an NC-17 Film; Protest Cencorship" mission.

I got to the part where he stuck the fork in her hand, and I had to turn it off. I felt dirty and violated by the film, and wished I hadn't seen any of it at all.

Of course, that was right about the time where I started having panic attacks (not caused by my viewing of the film), so I was pretty vulnerable at the time. I probably still wouldn't like the film, but I will admit it was not the best thing I could have watched given my emotional state at the time.

I can see that it wouldn't be an overly good film to watch in that situation. It's not a nice film, ever - actually I think it's uncompromising for every single moment. If it didn't have Helen in it perhaps I would have hated it - or more likely, not seen it - I think it was probably the sheer power of the performances that brings me back to it.

If there was one of Helen's movies which I have seen and really disliked, it would have to be Caligula. I saw the cut version, and it was just ridiculous. When they cut the sex from a porn film, what on earth do they expect to be left?
