Via [livejournal.com profile] bunney, check out this fabulous McGonagall doll. I'm not much one for dolls, but I could totally make an exception for her *covets*.

By the way, is anyone else on my flist signing up for [livejournal.com profile] snapelyholidays? I'm thinking about it. Watching the sign-ups atm to see if I'd be a good fit for it, since the FAQ/rules said it's very slashy, and IDK if I could do a m/m slash pairing justice (I've only ever written slash once, about six years ago, and it was bad).

25. Song that reminds you of HP

What? This is the same question as day seven, and I answered it rather thoroughly then!

The doll is really quite cute - I wonder about the pattern on the green robe, but wth.;

I will substitute the repeat question with one about other books to compare HP with as soon as I reach 25 *g*.

The doll is a real doll, indeed. Lovely.
As to Snapelyhols, I participated last year, but I'm not going to sign up this time. The slash-centered thing is the very reason.

I'm planning Yuleballs - there you can mention 'femslash only'. And that was excellent fun, too, last year.

What did the sign-ups look like last year, in comparison to what was actually posted? There are only a few sign-ups this year, but there seems to be quite a lot of Minerva and Poppy in either het or gen, which I could definitely do.

Yule Balls is also a possibility. That or Smutty Claus, which I played in two years ago. I'd like to participate in one HP holiday exchange this year. Probably only one, though, because any more than that and it gets difficult, with Yuletide also. I envy those people who can sign up for eleventy-one things and finish them all, but I'm not one of them.

I'm seriously considering Snapely Hols. I did it last year, and really enjoyed it: it was well-run, I enjoyed (in that hair-tearing, why-did-I-do-this-to-myself way) writing my fic (my first-ever m/m), and I received one of the best gifts ever (a Snape/McGonagall, Snape/Moody story by the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] atdelphi). And I liked the fact that there was some variety in the pairings -- it wasn't all Snarry and Snape/Hermione. (I don't mind a story or two with those pairings, but I have limited interest in them.)

It's true there was a lot of slash, but there were several of the odd pairs I love, like Snape/Filch, Snape/Slughorn, even a wonderful Snape/Dumbledore with a generous side-helping of Minerva.

So I'm considering signing up again, though I haven't fully decided, since I don't want to over-extend myself. I think I want to do Yule Balls, too, and I've got another Snape fest looming, too. I'm definitely not doing Smutty Claus, though, because my memory of last year was that it was almost exlusively Trio-era pairings and some Marauder; I don't think there was a single teacher or old-lady fic.
