Ooh, someone claimed my Poppy Pomfrey 'Munchausen Syndrome by proxy' prompt over at [livejournal.com profile] hp_darkfest! *bounces*

And now, the very last meme question. I actually finished it!

30. Whatever tickles your fancy

There's been nothing about vids in meme, so have some of my favourite HP fanvids:

I posted two of these on the 'songs' day, but my favourite fanvids wouldn't be complete without them, so whatevs.

Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise

Harry Potter: Bananaphone

The Only Gay At Hogwarts:

Snape is too sexy @ PPP. One of Neil's earlier animations, I think, but god I remember watching that when I first came to fandom. It is the original and the best. Also on the subject of Neil Cicierega's non-PPP animations, this one he made for his sister for Christmas is also made of win.

Rita Skeeter - Bad Reputation:

Snape is too Sexy (live action):

Also a classic. Quality is a bit lacking, and you can tell how 'classic' it is by the fact that it only has footage from the first two films, but the execution is marvellous (I especially love 'I'm too sexy for my cat')

HP Ladies do the Azkaban cell block tango:

And that's it. 30 days of HP. I'll be working on finishing the '30 days of awesome women' shortly, and posting the questions in case others want to play along :).

Great! I hardly know anything about HP videos, so they were all new to me. Loved them. Especially the Azkaban Tango and The Only Gay at Hogwarts - so brilliantly done, both of them.

Thanks a million, and thanks for doing the whole meme. It was fascinating and thought-provoking to read all your answers.

Oh, you must go and watch the rest of the Puppet Pals videos! There's a whole series of them. Neil Cicierega is a god among fans *g*

If you're unfamiliar, I also recommend A Very Potter Musical (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=a+very+potter+musical&aq=1), which is made of win and awesome. I haven't watched the sequel yet, but I'm just waiting for a time when I have nothing else pressing to do so I can really enjoy it :D

It is so unfair - in Germany so many Youtube-clips are not available because of Sony-copyrights... I, for example, cannot watch the "Cell block-Tango"....that is why I can't comment on that one :-((

Really? What a lot of crap! I thought it was specifically the company branded things that weren't available in all countries. Can you not see it at all?

Try this (http://s313.photobucket.com/albums/ll368/featherxquill2/?action=view&current=CellBlockTango-HarryPotterGirlswwwkeepvidcom.mp4)

*pwns youtube*

The quality is much reduced, sorry, but now you can see it if you want? I used this website (http://keepvid.com/) to download it, which I wonder if you could do even with videos you can't watch?

Thank you - now I could see it: and as I so love "Chicago" I just had to love this one *gg*.
I will try the detour next time I am denied access! When I myself are the maker of the youtube-clip the detour over photobucket does NOT work, they will refuse to upload it, too!

Love that whole Potter Puppet Pals series (although the "Ticking Sound" will always be my favorite). The others were new to me and great fun.

Thanks for all these thoughtful, fun posts!

(Once I audited a musical theatre class, and for one of our class performance projects, some of us did "Cell Block Tango." I was "Ten Times!" It was great fun, though our dancing was pretty limited.)

Oh, and I can't wait to read that dark Poppy story!! That's the very prompt I had been planning to choose (before I fucked up and missed the sign-up deadline). I'm so pleased it will be written.

There's just something about the simplicity of 'Ticking Sound' that makes it a lot of people's favourite, I think, including DanRad, apparently. (http://www.potterpuppetpals.com/) Of course, the original 'Bothering Snape' animation is brilliant too.

Wow, performing Cell Block Tango must be heaps of fun. I watched about six versions of it after postign that vid last night (the Chicago film version, Disney villainess' version, an all-male version by a gay theatre group - I can spend hours procrastinating on youtube with the 'related videos' links), and have been wandering around singing it ever since.

And, yes! Dark!Poppy squee! It would have been wicked awesome if you'd claimed it too, and that's a shame that you missed the sign-ups, since you said how much you enjoyed the fest last year. I think they maybe could have left sign-ups open a little longer, considering how many prompts there are in comparison to the number of sign-ups. I wonder, if there was one that particularly appealed to you (not necessarily mine, *g*) and you just, like, wrote it, whether the mods would post it?

That was you with the prompt? I had a look at the list and nearly fainted when I saw that -- the perfect prompt for dark!Poppy, not to mention that I find the whole issue of repressed aggression in helping professions ve-e-ery interesting. I look forward to that story!

And thank you so much for the links! Bananaphone (the hands free edition *g*), Gay Dumbles, and Sexy Snape are so funny (that puzzled look in Ginny's eyes *g*).

Sadly, I can't see the last one, either. Will bookmark it for next trip outside the borders of this intellectually-protected land.

Indeed it was! It sort of came out of nowhere - Kelly posted about there not being any teacher/older women prompts, so I went over there to add whatever popped into my head, and that one came out, and I was all 'oooh actually I really hope someone writes that!'. Can't wait to see what the claimer (claimee?) does with it.

Also, on the vid: try this (http://s313.photobucket.com/albums/ll368/featherxquill2/?action=view&current=CellBlockTango-HarryPotterGirlswwwkeepvidcom.mp4).

Ah, thank you for the link! I'll keep keepvid.com in mind; I've used downthisvideo before, but it hadn't occured to me to try it on blocked content. There is, of course, no way I would ever try doing that on content that is banned in the jurisdiction I am a subject of, oh no, but just hypothetically, it would be an interesting experiment.

Great vid!
