One last bit of procrastination before I knuckle down and WRITE this essay

I commetned earlier in a poll over at miranda_fans about how utterly impossible it would be for me to attempt to decide who was the better actress out of Miranda, Judi, Helen and Maggie (I have my favourite at the moment, but that's not what I'm talking about). I mean acting ability, and your opinions on such. I'd love to hear your reasons, too, if you can articulate them.

As much as I love Miranda, Judi, and Helen, I have to say that Maggie stands out above the other 3 for me. What really did it was her performance in the movie "Murder by Death." If anyone hasn't seen it, I suggest going out and finding it. It might take some work, but it's much better then it's remake, "Clue."

The only one out of those I didn't really consider was Helen Mirren (possibly because I'm jealous because Steve Harris of Iron Maiden once said he had a crush on her LOL). Maggie is a fine actress, but she doesn't quite have the range of the other two.

I ended up voting for Judi, but it was a tough choice.

While I think they're all amazing, and should be considered National Treasures, I think that Maggie and Judi - partly by virtue of being even more experienced - stand above the other two.

Technically, I think Maggie and Judi have mastered their craft equally. However, I prefer Maggie, because she can find the humanity and vulnerability in even the most reprehensible of characters - and she's had to play more than her fair share of those.
