featherxquill: (Miranda LVT horseman kiss)
[personal profile] featherxquill
I just watched Sleepy Hollow again (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] egyptian_moon!), and I have to say: whacking off the head of a likeness of yourself would have to be one of the most surreal experiences ever.

And bloody kisses are still love, even after seeing that film god-knows how many times.

Actually, I couldn't help but mentally compare the ending of that film to the ending of The Comfort of Strangers, in which Christopher Walken's and Helen Mirren's characters kill a young man, then proceed to share a passionate (and bloody) kiss as the film fades out.

I really have to restrain my urge to write dark, kinky, horseman/LVT fic.

I suppose what amazes me is that I saw this film at the cinema, and countless times on VHS at my Dad's house, without really really realising how fucking AWESOME Miranda Richardson is. I think it took The Hours to make me want to see more of her work.

*jumps on you from work*

It's because she's so damn flawless! She plays that part-just like all her other parts, so well, so subtly that you don't notice how well she is acting. Everyone else seems to be putting more effort in, she just IS.

Also have you ever noticed how most of the American actors in that movie are putting on British accents and Miranda's english but putting on american. And I LOVE her american accents because again, flawless. In SH and in things like Get Carter, its kind of a 'soft' accent, it's so well done she seems american. And yet in other things she's done she'll heighten the accent just a bit, like Snow White. She doesn't heighten it enough that it sounds put on, it still sounds real, but it suits the heightened reality of those movies/shows.

God can ya tell I'm bored at work from the way I latched onto that and ran with it? lol

Oh and.. Write the kinky fic. For me. 0;-)

I did. I think it definitely works, too. After all, Katrina has an American accent as well, and from the backstory we can see that she and her sister did grow up in America. I'm always amazed by how versatile her voice is. Even in Alice in Wonderland in which it makes me cringe.

Hehe I have so many fic ideas and so little drive to actually write them. I really should. Does LVT have a first name, that we know of? I didn't catch one so I'm thinking I would be able to make it up.

Hm.. why does Mary come to mind? I think there MIGHT be a first name listed on IMDB, but if not, make it up, I know you'll make it a good one.

I just got teh Crying Game this weekend and heard Miranda's Irish accent so I'm all over the versitle voice aspect of her right now. It's like her doing Mrs Tweedy in Chicken Run. I have to remind myself every 2 seconds that that's Miranda.
I was just about to type that the woman needs more recognition but actually I think that'd be sad. She IS recognised by other actors and people in the business and people who matter. I also think she has quite an interlectual fanbase. There's been plenty of things and actresses that I've thought deserved more recognition, then they got it and it RUINED them for me. Like the movie version of Chicago. Chicago the musical was my obession when I was 15. But the SHOW, the style and other things. Them making a movie of it got me excited then it soon went downhill. It IS a good movie. And really there's no way to make the show into a movie, the black stage and all the things that make it classy. But to hear preppy girls I hate singing the wrong(movie) lyrics to my favourite songs, and badly, killed me.

I don't want anyone killing the Miranda love. lol

Again, I'm spamming your lj. Throw me out.

It sure takes a real talent in chopping your own head off like that. I'm sure she enjoyed it.

Most welcome.

Personally, I think whacking off the head of a likeness of yourself would be a heck of a lot of fun. I think I would easily find it as a way of stress release.

Then again, I'm a bit odd.

And I second the recommendation that you should write the fic!

*faints* It always makes me ridiculously happy to see people fangirling Miranda. Mainly because she deserves it. And she is flawless and wonderful in everything she does and she is one of the only actors/actresses that I will watch a crappy film for just to see 10 minutes of them. Namely 'Get Carter: The Re-make' because it made me want to die. And in 'The Hours'...see, that was good on its own but then Miranda appeared and blew everyone else out of the water, even though she says she's not entirely comfortable with that performance. *disbelief*

And Sleepy Hollow is so damn brilliant; may I point out that a) it is a Tim Burton film, b) it has Johnny Depp being brilliant, c) it has Miranda being fabulous and sexy and eeeevil and having bloody kisses and evil-revenge-type-plans and d) Johnny and Miranda have scenes together OMG! See, that just makes this fangirl beyond squeeful.

...I think this long comment proves my love for her ;)
